I did peek into the other two rooms on the first floor and they looked quite charming. Very noisy! This room was not the place to be when some of the guests came in very late with no regard to others who might be trying to sleep. On the fourth day we were so happy not to have to cross the squeakiest floor, ever again! The Carter room is located at the bottom of the stairs and next to a small kitchen area. After the second day of that, I left the toilet seat up so that the maid would clean it.and she did. The bathroom had a black fungus looking ring in the bowl. If one chose to set in a chair to watch TV, they would need to re-arrange the chairs to keep from getting a sore neck. A long narrow room where the TV was at one end of the room and the bed at the other, with two wing back chairs in-between. I totally understand that it is an old historic home but come on.$300./per night and it was most uncomfortable. Now perhaps we were just unlucky enough to draw the short straw and was stuck with a room that might have originally been for the maid. This establishment is on an absolutely beautiful street! Well folks, it was just ok. However, I may try visiting another B&B the next time we head to Savannah. For my first visit to a B&B I was satiated. The B&B was clean, convenient, quiet, and had a very friendly staff. The breakfast was probably the best part with fresh fruit, biscuits, potatoes, sausage, and yogurt served buffet style. The dessert was a bit better, there was a yummy cake made by the innkeeper (we were told) and a few eclairs. The hors d'oeuvre's were fair at best, some cheese & crackers and some crab dip.nothing to write home about. It was certainly worth the price we paid through an Expedia special, but I would have been disappointed if we paid full price to stay there. The bed was rather tall, but steps were provided to get in and out of bed. We had a wonderful view of the courtyard, but if you are a light sleeper like myself, the fountain may become irritating. Our room was nicely decorated, but a bit small. Every member of the staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It was in walking distance of all our points of interest, but be sure to wear good shoes! Upon arrival my fiance and I were immediately greeted and taken inside to check in. The location was wonderful, located on the swanky Jones Street. This was my first time staying at a B&B and it certainly was a nice experience.
